Day 1...again

September 9th, 2006 at 08:38 pm

A few months ago I came up with a budget and a plan for the future. Since then there has been so much that has not gone according to my plan. I thought it was coincidence at first but now I’m realizing that it’s because of my new credit limit.
I spent years without credit cards. I screwed up big time years ago but I’ve been working hard to pay everything off until recently. Now that I got the balance transferred and I am not paying interest I’ve lost all motivation to get things paid off as quickly as possible. I’m also remembering how easy it is to whip out the plastic without thinking. So what that means is that now instead of getting things paid off quickly, which was my original intention, my credit card debt has gone up by about $500. Granted it is at 0% but still.

These are my new goals to get me back on track:
1. I will not use my credit card only my debit card
2. Work extra hours to get that extra 500 paid off
3. Revamp the budget

My first new credit card in 10 years (and last)

When I was an 18 year old college student with no real income I had 9 credit cards with around $10,000 of available credit. I was responsible for awhile at least then life got in the way. I ended up dropping out of school working crappy jobs supporting a boyfriend who was supposed to be supporting me but that's a whole other story. Anyway, I am still paying for those mistakes but now I am paying for them at 0% interest. Yay!
