Day 1...again

September 9th, 2006 at 01:38 pm

A few months ago I came up with a budget and a plan for the future. Since then there has been so much that has not gone according to my plan. I thought it was coincidence at first but now I’m realizing that it’s because of my new credit limit.
I spent years without credit cards. I screwed up big time years ago but I’ve been working hard to pay everything off until recently. Now that I got the balance transferred and I am not paying interest I’ve lost all motivation to get things paid off as quickly as possible. I’m also remembering how easy it is to whip out the plastic without thinking. So what that means is that now instead of getting things paid off quickly, which was my original intention, my credit card debt has gone up by about $500. Granted it is at 0% but still.

These are my new goals to get me back on track:
1. I will not use my credit card only my debit card
2. Work extra hours to get that extra 500 paid off
3. Revamp the budget

I think you might find it easier to keep up your committment to debt payoff if you blogged more often. Being at this site really helps me to keep the pressure on to pay off debt and to save money for future needs.

You're right. I seem to only blog when I feel overwhelmed. I'll start blogging more. Thanks Smile
